Quadriceps V-Y plasty is a useful tool sometimes needed in extremely bad knees needing total knee replacement or in this case a 6-month-old non union of patella where the two fractured ends are not coming together dude to quadriceps contracture.
If done correctly this surgery helps us to give back normal flexion of the knee and normal power back to the knee extensor mechanism.
